I’m down to my socks and its time for business. Photography business!
It has been almost three years since I started my portrait a day project. At the time I had no idea how demanding it was going to be. I soon realized, however, that tracking down a subject, planning a shoot, editing the photo, and writing a post was almost a full-time job. Life did not cooperate with the project. Between school, family, and getting pneumonia I was not able to continue with the project and it officially ended in March. I learned a great deal in that time, however.
I am in a different place in life now. My children are older, I have completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and it is time for me to pick up the camera again. Not with a portrait a day challenge, but beginning in January I am going to be pursuing photography full-time by going all-in on my photography business. This is an exciting time for our family. Although we realize that there will be many challenges we are ready to take them on.
I would love for you to join me on this journey. I will be posting new content to my blog regularly. I am also toying with the idea of doing a 365 photo challenge. This wouldn’t be anything elaborate and would consist of posting a photo a day for an entire year. No rules. Just one photo taken every day for a year. Granted, I understand that there will be times when I am not able to post a photo for various reasons, but the point of this project is not to stick to a rigorous schedule, but to just help me keep the viewfinder to my eye and keep the momentum rolling. Let me know if this is something you would be interested seeing and following.
And of course, I would love the opportunity to photograph you and your family. Let me know how I can be of help! Call me anytime (434)825-9853.
